Oct 5th over here! Cant wait! Started my liquid diet today and already failed. Had a left over baked chicken leg. The Protein Shakes are awful. I feel bad for cheating but they never gave me an actual diet. I just planned to do this to get myself ready. Wondering if it would be better to just have mostly liquid and a light Protein meal. IDK, im just ready for the day to get here even though i feel ill prepared. Even tho i AM ill prepared. Anyone have a check list? I know im going to need a lot but i dont know where to start. Feel like ive been in a daze.

PS. Im having my surgery in Brooklyn NY. If anyone lives here or near id love a buddy. I feel like im sinking lol.

Oh and by today i meant 9/26/16

Hi everyone , I'm getting the sleeve on October 18th . And I was told the sleeve doesn't help people with acid reflux , for some reason the doctor decided for sleeve . Does anyone know if the acid reflux could get better or worse with the sleeve ? Thank you

@@vivi16 It depends on the cause of the acid reflux. Do you have a hiatal hernia that will be repaired at the same time? If so - that's probably what's causing the reflux. I have mild reflux (based on my GI Study) and having the Sleeve. My Dr felt there would be no issues. I'm also on the 18th!! good luck!

@@facebro29 Can you have sugar free popsicles or Jello? Try adding some good sugar free flavors to a shake - like add a spoonful of Decaf instant coffee into a chocolate shake or get some sugar free flavoring and add hazelnut or caramel to a shake. It should help a little. Good Luck!

Thanks for the help. Might try to get some sugar free jelly. My NUT wants me to eat normally before pre-op so no shakes or bars for me. I will get some on my way home.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
