@ Do you manage a lot of Protein? I just can't imagine eating all protein, ugh, I know I have to but I love chicken - yes - however I can't sit and eat it all day. Lol. I love eggs, cheeses and mince too but I never eat so much that I am over 60g of protein.

I am very strategic about my Protein, i usually try to get my Protein as high as i can during each meal, so i don't have to eat large amounts to meet it, i try to be as creative as possible with my meals so i don't get bored.

So, i will make a lamb salads, or slow cook meat with beans/legumes, roasts with veggies, chicken salads, fish etc

I try to add non meat Proteins, nuts, cheeses as well to change it up and increase the protein amount

Eg, you could make a lentil and lamb salad, add greek yogurt to dip the lamb in, sprinkle some seeds/nuts, add some feta... awesome.. thats practically a quarter of your daily needs just there!

Eg. I make an open taco bowl... lamb or turkey mince, old el paso taco seasoning/sauce, red Beans, white Beans, onion, tomatoes, capsicum, fresh corriander.. cook it all up, then put it ontop of a "salad" of iceberg lettuce, Tomato, corriander, red onion, capsicum... its yum!

I find Mediterranean and middle eastern recipes do this very well

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
