How long did it take you to lose 100 lbs?

Recommended Posts

The higher the BMI, the quicker the loss. I've seen people lose 100 pounds in 6 months, and I've seen them lose it in a year or more. I never quite got to 100, but it took me about 15 months to lose 93. I was a slow poke.

This makes me feel better I'm almost at a year and only 65 down. My surgery weight was 253.

I lost 99 pounds pre-op -- and that was six-months leading up to my sleeve on September 28. I have lost 111 pounds total as of today (October 6).

It was so long ago I don't remember when I hit the 100 pound mark, but it took a month Preop plus 18 months postop to lose 160 pounds. I started with a BMI of 50.

It took me 15 months. My high weight was 244 and I was at 239 on the morning of my surgery. I am 16 months post-op now and have lost 101 pounds.

Today I hit the 100 lb loss mark - 199

Not since the surgery, but since my highest weight which prior to surgery was 300.

I am still in disbelief that there is not a "2" before my weight.

I was not one of those fast losers but slow and steady with a few stalls and here I am exactly one year and 4 days out of surgery. I'd wanted to lose the 100 in the first year and here it is!

I'm 7 months out and have lost 93lbs. Currently in a stall... not worrying I know I'll get there soon enough. just remember everyone's body is different and we all loose at different rates.

Starting weight was 353. Lost 100 pounds by 4.5 months. Still averaging 2 lbs a week with mild exercise and sticking with the eating plan my nutritionist gave me. This means no cheating. I will NEVER go back to my old habits or weight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
