RaulG 1 Posted August 19, 2016 My HW prior to surgery on 8/8 was 426, I rapidly dropped to 379 as of today. I was used to seeing 2-3 lbs a day, now it's only maybe 2-1 lbs a day... I know I have a long way to go, and I'm following all my Drs orders to a t. Anyone else have this issue? smg 471 Posted August 19, 2016 Sounds to me like you've had great progress so far and if you're still losing 1-2 lbs per day, I wouldn't call that a stall! It is normal for things to slow a bit, or even stall as your body is going through a lot of changes. Now and again, it "takes a break" to recharge. Sounds like you're still doing great so keep doing what you're doing!
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted August 19, 2016 Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate and we all experience stalls. Almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, exercise when cleared, and stay off the scale. OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted August 19, 2016 Losing weight is not a stall. The more weight you lose in total, the slower your daily (I really don't suggest weighing every day unless you can detach from it), weekly and mothly loses are going to be. That is natural. KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 19, 2016 @@RaulG If you are losing 1-2 lbs a day - that's excellent and not a stall. You're doing something right - keep it up!
kelliev2015 136 Posted August 19, 2016 I was also sleeved on 8/8. My day of surgery weight was 191. By 8/15, I was down to 182 and the scale hasn't moved since. I am guessing it is normal to slow down while your body adjusts to your new diet. I'm hoping it'll start moving again once I advance to soft foods.
shondaboo123 2 Posted August 20, 2016 I'm only losing about 1.5 lbs a week but recently no weight loss lost 40 lbs and just stopped Sent from my VS880PP using the BariatricPal App
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted August 20, 2016 A stall is three weeks of no scale movement -- up or down. You're certainly not in a stall. One to two pounds a week is good, one or two a day? Celebrate!!
