I'm about 3 weeks post op and I notice that I feel hunger more frequently. Not ravenous starvation, but hungry. I'll eat something from my plan, 3oz or so, and am satisfied, but find myself feeling hungry again after a few hours. I'm following my post op diet to the letter, and have been doing really well getting enough Protein and Fluid in, but I just wonder if it's normal to feel hunger more frequently than I did before.

Hey there. You say you feel hungry after a few hours. On my plan I am encouraged to eat every three hours. Up to six small meals per day. This advice is so ur body never has a chance to get too hungry or be overfilled. I certainly am a little hungry again at the three hour mark and enjoy my next small meal :) so I don't think what u feel is odd. If it was after 30mins that might be a worry. Also soft foods will pass quicker like yoghurt or Protein shakes. No doubt you are still on soft foods so you might find that this reduces when you can have heavier food.

Good points, I'm still on puréed, I do notice when I try something a little heavier/thicker I don't get as hungry as quick. And I am also supposed to be eating about 6 times a day, no way I could get my Protein in if I didn't, and if I wasn't getting hungry i know I'd forget to eat! Lol glad to know this isn't weird or unusual

Yes apparently we are the lucky ones- who still feel some hunger. Many feel none and so as you said forget to eat and don't get their Protein. I had kinda hoped I would never feel hungry again but from the people I've spoken to- they say it is horrible to eat so often when u don't want it at all. So I will take their word for it and be glad I'm recovering well and still get some enjoyment from eating my healthy small meals.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
