Favorite Breakfast Foods

So when it comes to Breakfast, I'm looking for quick, easy, "clean" and loaded with Protein. I used to do a Pure Protein Bars, but am looking for a cleaner option with similar amount of protein (20grams)

Any suggestions would be great!

Greek yogurt with a few fresh berries on top. Occasionally I'll add a half a scoop of Protein powder to my yogurt to bump up the Protein even more

I do yogurt or eggs a lot, but those don't have all the Protein you want. You could always eat the non traditional Breakfast foods like fish, chicken, etc

I have a "real food" Protein packed breakfast I love:

http://www.mnn.com/food/recipes/stories/spiced-lentils-with-arugula-and-fried-eggs

I tend to omit the arugula, but I usually do about 3/4 cup of the lentil mixture and one egg. This gives you about 225 calories and 21 grams of Protein.< /p>

To me, it has a similar to taste to Huevos Rancheros.

I buy the grilled chicken from Trader Joe's and just chop up 3 ounces in the morning. 90 calories, 0 carbs, 19 grams of Protein and it takes under 2 minutes to prepare. Hard to beat.

I eat deli turkey (2 oz) wrapped around a piece of low-fat cheddar and fruit (usually 1/4 cup blackberries and 1/4 cup blueberries but sometimes some apple slices). If I have time (and depending on my food plans for the day), I add a piece of whole grain toast. Every once in a while I will try the yogurt, but I seem to be not as satisfied, so it is not my usual go to.

Depending on how early I eat that day, I will have a Premier Protein for a morning snack (a couple of hours after breakfast).

I am always out the door B4 breakfast so must make and carry mine with me.

For quick gathering, I enjoy some mornings to have Cottage cheese with fruit and stevia, or even cheese for a more savory taste.

The mornings I go the gym B4 work and breakfast, I make and pack Protein shakes, and with all the different varieties I can think up to get Protein and carbs at right levels.

My favorite breakfast is oatmeal made with Water. Cook 3/4 cups of dry oatmeal with 1 1/4 cup of skim milk. Add 1 chopped apple and 1/4 cup of brazil nuts. Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with honey. Total: 24 grams of Protein. Brazil nuts are rich in Proteins, dietary Fiber and fat. They are good for heart and skin health, as well as cancer prevention. https://wikihomenutrition.com/brazil-nuts-health-benefits/

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
