GACaldwell 112 Posted August 18, 2016 Hi All! I'm one day shy of 4 weeks post op. The first 2 weeks were great..I wasn't tired at all and I resumed my schedule before long. But when week 3 hit I started getting tired...not tired as in "I need a nap" but tired as in i need to do less and be still a LOT. Daily activity wears me down so the idea of walking more or adding any exercise is beyond comprehension at this point. I'm just wondering when the feeling of tired went away for you? TYIA! RhondaF 9 Posted August 18, 2016 I am 3 1/2 weeks post op amd have tired as well. My doctor yesterday told me not to push it. That our insides are still healing. I have been able to walk in the mornings then i am too tired the rest of the day. I am just doing what i can. We'll get there! KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 18, 2016 @@GACaldwell It takes time to heal. Be sure you are getting enough fluids and Protein and taking Vitamins. The other thing to consider - if you are on blood pressure meds - they may need adjusting.
suzzzzz 1,005 Posted August 18, 2016 I too got more fatigued around 3 weeks. However, I did take naps! I think I started feeling stronger around 6-7 weeks. Being on solid food for a couple of weeks probably helped.
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted August 18, 2016 Things improved considerably for me once I was able to eat solid foods and get more calories in. If you are still only hitting around 450 calories a day, of course you are going to be exhausted! You are starving! Once I was up around 800 calories a day, I was a pretty functional human being and able to introduce some cardio. I had to get up around 1100 calories before I really kicked up the intensity of my cardio. Then I probably hovered around 1400 calories a day for the majority of my weight loss phase. Squeek2000 2 Posted August 18, 2016 I am 3 1/2 weeks out as well and am very tired. I stopped my blood pressure med two days ago and feel less tired. I check my blood pressure two to three times a day because I did not consult with my doctor first. If on med you should consult with physician first.
GACaldwell 112 Posted August 18, 2016 Thanks all! I'm no on any BP meds other than the low dose aspirin daily. I take Vitamins daily. No issues getting in my liquids or Proteins. Looks like it's just a waiting game....and I have never been patient! LOL Much Love!

GACaldwell 112 Posted August 18, 2016 I see that you posted in post-op. Why are you taking aspirin? Is your surgeon aware of this? Yes my surgeon is aware. I'm taking it on my General Practitioner's orders for my BP (It's always been borderline) but my surgeon ok-ed it once I was off the med he prescribed me. EmilyJune 43 Posted August 20, 2016 I recommend asking for labs drawn to check Vitamin and thyroid. I am 2.5 months post op and have awful uncontrollable fatigue toward afternoons and found out I was severely deficient even while on vits daily. If you don't take enough Protein and fluids in especially in this heat you will have the same issue. Good luck.
