So I figured I would update everyone on my journey. I was 6 months post op on August 12. I have lost over 42.25 inches and I'm down 85 pounds. I know it is normal but I have a hard time seeing the weight loss. I know the scale is moving but I still feel huge. I still have about 50 pounds to go but thought I'd share some pics. The one in the black pants was the first day of school last year. The one in the dress was the first day of school this year. The other two are just a before and after side view.post-285074-14714581190213_thumb.jpg post-285074-14714581297632_thumb.jpg post-285074-1471458153695_thumb.jpg post-285074-14714581657376_thumb.jpg

sounds like you are dealing with dysmorphia (can't find correct spelling :( )

you look in the mirror and still see the old overweight person

in reality you are much thinner

yes, this situation happens to others too

great pics and transformation

i see the weight loss - even if you don't

sooner than later you WILL see "less and less" of you

42.25 inches, down 85 pounds!!!

wonderful stats

keep up the good work

kathy

congrats

I can tell the difference but it looks like you are wearing clothes that are too large for you. You will never see the difference or feel the difference if you keep wearing loose flowy clothes that are too large! Get some clothes that fit, you will feel so much better.

How do you feel, do you see the significant changes in how you move? Getting up out of your car? How much real estate when you lay in your bed. These are major mile stones. Some people look at numbers but let's internalize. I'm thrilled to cross my legs. To fit in old clothes! Rapid weight loss causes psychological tricks on us. You may need to do some talking and therapy. Your gonna think this strange but get naked and stare at every inch of your beautiful self. They call it reaffirmation. It's learning to know and Love your new self.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
