SuperSparkly72 116 Posted August 17, 2016 So, I was reading another thread this morning on alcohol - a charming topic that has since delightfully devolved into communion wine in dixie cups - when someone brought up drinking coke with pop rocks and I nearly spit my Protein Shake all over my computer screen. This is literally the conversation I had with my husband last night: Hubby: Hey, I found the pop rocks you gave me for Christmas. Can I still cash them in? (22 years of marriage and always looking for new romantic . . . adventures. Look it up.) Me: No. You know I don’t eat sugar anymore. I’m pretty sure I warned you that you had to use them before I had my surgery in January. Hubby: Dang. It was a three pack too. Are you sure I can’t cash them in anyway? Just without the pop rocks? Me: It’s not as much fun without the pop rocks. Hubby: sad puppy face Me: Fine. If you can find sugar free pop rocks, we’ll talk. Hubby: (not even FIVE MINUTES later) Good news! Amazon sells sugar-free pop rocks . . . in a 24 pack! Don’t worry. I would never subject my delicate pouch to pop rocks, even sugar-free. Poor Hubby got his hopes up for nothing. Stupid Amazon. Stupid pop rocks. Now I want a coke. Or communion wine in a dixie cup. Instead, I’ll drink my old lady juice: Water with added Fiber and Miralax. 125#s down today! I love my pouch! goblue9280 481 Posted August 17, 2016 As a guy, pop rocks in that area doesn't sound like a good idea... too sharp. Sounds like he REALLY is wanting to cash in... no harm in skipping the pop rocks!
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted August 17, 2016 A Dixie cup with jokes printed on them! Big diff!!!
MissKay 329 Posted August 17, 2016 As a previous employee of Amazon, I am so sorry, haha! The site practically has everything.
SuperSparkly72 116 Posted August 17, 2016 @@KristenLe Right? I learned so many fun facts after I turned 40. Turns out, my mother was right. You are influenced by your friends. I should have been hanging out with the girls who smoke. It wasn't until I started joining my secretaries on their smoke breaks that I really started to have fun! Pop Rocks, Jello shots, Pure Romance parties. . . . For anyone feeling sorry for Hubby, don't. He's been benefitting greatly from things like my hormone dumps, increased stamina and a much more flexible SuperSparkly. The pop rocks were him just being greedy. LOL! NeedaBreak4Me 1,755 Posted August 17, 2016 Oh my..... i am a little daft today lol I was innocently reading thinking we were talking about eating those pop rock candy thingies, i did not realise till much later that there were other uses for them other than putting them in your mouth! I obviously have a lot to learn regarding candy lol *blush*

heidikat72 935 Posted August 17, 2016 I never cease to be amazed at the things I learn about on this forum. Clearly, I've been very sheltered up to this point! hahahahahahahaha
goblue9280 481 Posted August 17, 2016 Nope, I always feel sorry for any guy not receiving "pop rocks" on a regular basis! Don't fret though, I also feel bad for any lady whose guy is unwilling to reciprocate. For anyone feeling sorry for Hubby, don't... The pop rocks were him just being greedy. LOL! glitter eyes 1,398 Posted August 17, 2016 LMBO- just had to google the whole pop rocks thing. Guess I am sheltered too. Learn something new everyday! I am in maintenance- so maybe I can spare the carbs and give it a try. Now my google search has a naughty search history.LOL
hillgirly 228 Posted August 17, 2016 LMBO! This sound like my hubby-literally! I'll have to read this thread to him. Of course I'm sure that will start the whole conversation of whether I ate all of my Protein today & his offering of a high Protein snack

Did I mention we've been married 22 years? I have to save something for special! Hence pop rocks for Christmas. Plus, Hubby knows he can have "pop rocks" anytime he wants to go to the grocery store for me. Believe me, he's not deprived. I just finished paying off my debt for all of the shopping he did for me over the winter when I didn't want to drive in the snow. (yes, I know we're not right, but it works for us) However, you make a good point. Mr. SuperSparkly is exceptionally nice to me and of all of the husbands I know, he's my favorite. He deserves a little extra every now and again.
