You are entitled to make your own choices, but since you are *asking* for others' opinions here, I'll give you mine.

It's my opinion that doing this will trigger some very bad things for you. The salt and flavoring is bad enough (health-wise), but it's just going to cause you to want more of it. Sooner or later you'll just be eating doritos again, which, for most of us, might be one of the things that landed us here in the first place.

The surgery is a chance for you to "reboot" and start over by making healthy food choices. Don't squander that opportunity for a few seconds of manufactured satisfaction.

Best of luck

So idk how bad this is but i have been sucking the salt and flavor off of doritos and throwing the chip away

Ha I've totally fantasized about this. I too am a salt/savory addict. I am not allowed real foods yet and have seriously thought about what will happen when I want that crispy crunch, which led me to research alternative yet more healthy chips like oven roasting all kinds of root vegetables. Idk where you are in your progress but look those recipes up, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if there was a vegan dorito recipe.

Since I've been unable to eat food it didn't mean I didn't want them but I sat back to examine my relationship with food, maybe you've done that too, but if you haven't it wouldn't hurt to think about what emotions or moods you are attaching to this activity and it might help to research recipes for alternative crunch stuff.

Be kind to yourself.

I'll throw an alternate idea out there. A salt craving can indicate a potential mineral deficiency or other problem that your body interprets as a need for salt. Since you say the salt cravings seem to be a new thing for you - talk to your primary about this new craving. If it turns out to be more of a "head craving" than an actual physiological one, then seek therapy for ways to deal with/get past the craving rather than giving in to it.

That is the worst part. There is not much left of the Doritos at that point, you might as well eat the rest of it too.

Wouldn't it be if we all lived in a camp where we could smack junk off of each other's hands every time someone gave in to a craving?? "No! You are not doing that to yourself. You just earned yourself three laps, missy"

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
