chai20 14 Posted August 15, 2016 Hey all, Had my band removed June 20 and I'm having the sleeve procedure on August 17.....36 hours from now, but who's counting. I gained at least 25 lbs since the removal.....I can't be the only one, am I? To say that I've got a little shpilkes is an understatement. Any words of wisdom out there? Sai 785 Posted August 16, 2016 Nope, you're definitely not alone. My band was unfilled a few months ago, and I've put on ~20 lbs, and the nurse told me it's common, most of the time far more than just 20 lbs. Good luck on your surgery! My revision is scheduled for early September.
chai20 14 Posted August 17, 2016 I did it. All went well except the gas is a bit painful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
katiecem 24 Posted August 21, 2016 I had my band unfilled 4 years ago due to complications. I gained 60 lbs. I had my band taken out and the sleeve done on August 17th. I was able to lose 15 lbs pre-op. Looking forward to getting healed and really using this new tool.
NYC1992 135 Posted August 22, 2016 My band-to-sleeve revision surgery is August 24th! I was very successful with my lap band for the first 2 years, losing 165 lbs (even had skin removal)... ever since last summer, my band has completely stopped working and I gained back 30 lbs within 3 months. My surgeon's office and I worked really hard to see what the source of it was, trying several different fills - sadly I am not able to tolerate anything higher than 5.75 cc. Phentermine helped for a few months before my body developed immunity to it. I'm very grateful that insurance has approved my revision surgery and it's very surreal for it to be happening so soon. I've been bad with trying to follow the liquid diet (though nothing other than yogurt and gluten free crackers) and feel guilty about it. However, I had a very hard time sticking to it the first time around and really hope it won't impact me negatively as long as I don't have anything more solid than those options. Rokumok4 53 Posted August 28, 2016 Had sleeve done on 8/25. Incisions are painful when I move. JP drain will stay in until Tuesday. I'm ready to feel like myself again. Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.
