Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 28, 2007 The trick is not to keep anything like that in the house. I have to talk myself out of going to the Dairy Queen on a regular basis. Lap band talk helps a lot . When I am on here, I am busy reading and not thinking about what I wish I could have. I do allow myself a sugar free fudgesicle almost every evening. they are 40 calories. The usually hit the spot.
Liz1531 3 Posted August 28, 2007 I finally decided to ask what is head hunger? I don't get this...
JosieK 120 Posted August 28, 2007 hi sheila i am starting to struggle with head hunger. i used to belong to weight watchers before i was banded and there is a group on their online site called "no nighttime nibbles" and i rejoined that group. you commit to cut off time for eating and there is alot of support (similar to LBT) i really need to be held accountable. i find i get in bad "habits" and if i fight them like you did with the boston baked Beans.....eventually the head hunger noises go away. so good for you! liz...headhunger is when you want to eat something (usually not good) but you aret physially hungry...just mentally. for me it starts the minute i'm finished with dinner...i crave sweets. chase's mom 0 Posted August 28, 2007 I am fightinng it right now! I am on my liquid pre-op phase and i am not hungry yet all i can think about is going to the fridge!! AHHHH! Thank god for this group and i can busy myself reading.
ragdollx19 1 Posted August 28, 2007 I fight it by drinking a bunch of Water and finding something to do. If I just cannot get a craving out of my head after a few days I indulge, but only a bite or two... not the entire container or bowl I would have had before. I have some low sugar ice cream in my freezer for when I am craving dessert, the difference is two bites and I have satisfied my craving. Before I would have eaten a huge bowl. carol1951 0 Posted August 28, 2007 Some days head hunger yells at me. I hear food calling my name. Yet on other day, its not around and I'm not sure where it goes. I can't figure it out. When it yells its usually for something sweet, then I have to fall it up with something non sweet. Crazy isn't it. I have to fight it all the time and its not easy. I try to do something else, read, work puzzles, and sew. Just try to stay busy.

Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 29, 2007 The good thing is if you get sweets out of your system, you won't crave them as much. That has helped me a lot.
lawanda jessica 0 Posted August 29, 2007 I am not a sweet eater but meat eater! I am not hungry either but for some reason I keep thinking about a nice juicy sirloin steak covered with portabella mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers. Maybe some lamb chops on the forman seasoned in lemon and pepper seasoning and fresh garlic. Maybe a chicken breast grilled in onions and lemon extra juicy! Maybe a huge cheesy thin crust pizza with sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms with parmesean cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man thanks for the release! I am such a meat/cheese eater it's rediculous!
