Terrible Macros. Just sugar, almost no Protein.

This is the Peach Blueberry with almond milk...

It actually manages to be worse, if possible.

These are all empty calories basically. There are no good options in any of these smoothies. Lots of calories, lots of sugar, almost no Protein.< /p>

a real sugar bomb. I occasionally make smoothies at home, but I never order them at restaurants anymore.

Has anyone tried them ? I saw they have a fat free and low fat smoothie and I'll be out that way today and was wondering are they ok to drink ? Or worth getting?

Fat is not the issue. Generally speaking, most things that are low fat or fat free, especially if they are processed, have a lot of sugar added to compensate for the reduced fat. For instance, reduced fat Peanut Butter is simply lower fat because it is diluted with sweetener (usually high fructose corn syrup).

Without looking at the nutritional content of a Panera smoothie, my guess would be "no".

You should stick to making your own. That way you know whats in it. No surprise stalls for me... Hmm is that ice cream you putting in that smoothie and strawberry preserves what applejuice too? No and Thank you!!!

I would be worried about too much sugar at once from a smoothie. It's so easy to drink a lot of calories and make yourself sick. (Yes, I know it's mostly "natural" sugar, but too much sugar is too much.)

In two days, I'll be a year post op, and the thought alone of that enormous amount of sugar makes me wanna hurl! I still struggle to eat a whole banana without feeling sick from the natural fruit sugar, and there are 14g of sugar in a banana. Careful! :)

Natural sugar is liquid form is just like sugar basically. When you eat a piece of fruit the Fiber in the fruit causes your body to process it more slowly. If you have it in liquid form, it is hitting your blood stream very quickly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
