AmiLou 41 Posted August 15, 2016 Yes, I would do it again. I'm only 8 weeks out but I returned to work after two weeks. I'm 54 and that recovery period was enough. Two months will be fantastic. By that time, you will exercising and eating normal...or at least your new normal. Attend support group meetings offered by your hospital. They will give you confidence and reassurance that you are doing the right thing. I did. Good luck!
losingtheselumps 93 Posted August 15, 2016 I would absolutely do it again!! I have no regrets. I am only 10 weeks out, but I am so happy with my choice. My lifestyle is already changing. I'm more active with my kids, working out in a gym again, have more energy. I have thrown up one time since surgery, and that was because I took my Vitamins on an empty stomach. Now, I know better lol. I HATE throwing up as well, and that was one of my fears before surgery. I never get nauseous. I have had zero complications. I know that my experience won't be the same as everyone else, though. Good luck with your journey!
char3672 292 Posted August 15, 2016 Absolutely! I'll be 2 years post-op on September 1st. I've been maintaining below goal for about a year now. I'm running a marathon on September 18th. A MARATHON!!! Can you believe that?!?! Was there some pain and misery in the early weeks? For sure! Was there a period of adjustment in the early months? Heck yeah! Did I wonder if I would ever feel "normal" again? Yep! For a long time! But now that is all a VERY distant memory! I am happy and healthy and enjoying all aspects of my life! Congratulations on your success! Good luck with the marathon! I think I'll fe able to do this. I have not heard from 1 person that said they are sorry they did it. rebecca wills 190 Posted August 15, 2016 I'd do it in a NY minute, Love my sleeve! 7 weeks in and in clothes I have not worn in years. Feeling tremendous, best feeling. Some moments where I over ate, or ate too fast. But throwing up is not really what most would call it. It is the contents of what went down last. The small contents of your sleeve. So once you've had it happen and know the feeling your careful not to have it happen again. When I had my sleeve it was textbook, no complaints and minimal pain. I came home on Tylenol. Walk in the park, I've given birth 5 times, had my overies removed, had thyroid removed and the sleeve was a cake walk. Good wishes! char3672 292 Posted August 16, 2016 I'm not having surgery until Kune, but I can yell you one thing, since I asked if people would have the surgery again, NOT 1 PERSON SAID NO! I have been feeling much more comfortable since reading these posts Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
GSleeve822 394 Posted August 16, 2016 I would def do it again. If throwing up is your biggest worry, then you'll be fine. I haven't thrown up. Surgery makes you nauseated and dry heave but nothing more happened to me. Also, 2 months is plenty of time. I took 7 days. Good luck! kmorri 1,689 Posted August 16, 2016 My husband and I both are getting this done sometime in September -October. The closer it gets, the more nervous I get. Could use some encouragement here please. Thanks- That will be fantastic for you both to have it done together......adjusting to the new eating plan will be much much easier with you both doing it.....and your grocery bill will go way down!!! haha Good luck to you both! Being nervous is normal. In fact if you were not nervous something would be wrong with that.
