I logged out and took a last look at the new topics in the screen-rght list. Seeing your "Yes I am thankful for any amount lost" drew me back in to say I hope you really are of such sound mind. It wouldn't be nice to tease about something like that.

All the best.

Why would I not be of sound mind? As with many people on here I wanted to share my joyous moment. I am still happy with my decision to have this surgery even though I have had some complications. I don't live a life of regrets. So I would be just as thankful for losing 20lbs as I would be for 50. I don't have a negative mentality.

@@forever changed,

Uh-oh, I was jesting with you. Nothing so sad as a jest fallen flat. It may be that you haven't been at BP long enough to see how often @@KristenLe's reference holds true.

Shalom.

I haven't been for very long. I have read several posts where people are just not happy with their progress. I truly do have the mentality that some is better than none. I expect stalls and possibly a few gains. I try to be realistic.

That's awesome! Congratulations!

And I agree - it's really nice to see someone with a positive outcome looking at it with positivity!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Fantastic attitude. I too was/am shocked most of the time. When I try on clothes, feel more comfortable in daily life and have more energy. The scale is actually going down for a change and it stays down. I have stalls, but I also notice that I loose inches during those stalls. An AMAZING tool. Finally, something that actually works! And I do enjoy food just as much as I did before. Just low carb, which (shockingly) hasn't been an issue. Truly a miracle! Stick with your eating plan and I think you will enjoy the ride :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
