I didn't lose 60 pounds until sometime during the 4th month. I still lost around 140 pounds in 12 months.

The first 6 weeks post-op my Dr told me were for healing, not losing weight.

Also, don't compare yourself to other people, you have no idea how they are really losing weight. There are people not meeting their Protein goals so they are losing muscle. Not getting enough calories, they are starving themselves. There are lots of people that post in one thread bragging about their weight loss and in another they post they can't get in their Protein and they are still at barely 600 calories.

Maybe the people who have lost 50/60 lbs in 2 months are starting from a very high weight or had very high levels of Water retention. I lost a lot the first few days of the pre-op diet. It is amazing how much Water my body was holding onto.

Don't compare yourself to others. This isn't a race. It's not typical to lose 50-60lbs at 8 weeks. Stick with your plan and you will lose. Be sure not to limit calories. Get all your Protein and fluids.

I agree that a lot of this probably has to do with starting weight. It's like any other diet, the bigger you are the more you lose at first. Whenever I would start a diet at my heaviest I'd lose up to 10 lb the first 2 weeks, but when I was starting from a lower weight I'd lose less. On my usual calorie counting diets I consider 5lb/month to be a win so I'm just hopeful to beat that # after surgery. ;)

I'm a slow loser. I try to get all my Protein in and try not to snack on junk. I'm about 8 weeks out and all together lost 47 so that's not a lot but I keep trying to do my walking I will join a gym this week so I hope that helps.

You think that's not alot of weight to lose in 8 weeks? What were your expectations?

I'm a little over 5 months out and have JUST NOW lost 50 pounds. Very slow loser. But I get my Protein, Water and exercise in. I'm disappointed sometimes. But like others have said here, it's not a race, and we can't compare our journeys to others. We just have to use our tool the best way we know how. You'll get there

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
