So far, so good. I'm not having any issue getting my fluids in. Recovery was easy. The incisions are healing okay. 1 is still painful when I twist or turn, and 2 look like they are not going to heal very well. The other 2 look fine.

I've been on a clear liquid diet the past week (plus 2 wks pre-op), but today was my 1st day on a full liquid diet. I walked two miles to BJs instead of taking the bus. I did take the bus home b/c by the time I finished shopping, I was drained. I stocked up on Protein shakes, SF Jello, SF applesauce, and a few other things for the next week. I've been saving so many recipes; I'm dying to try them out once I can eat normal food. This liquid thing makes me want to throw myself into a brick wall.

My focus recently was locating a Registered Dietician to help me with the post-op diet. I've done that now. My next step is finding a therapist or psychologist who can help me with food issues.

How are you doing?

I'm doing good I've lost 14 lbs since 8/3 and dr says I'm doing good incisions look good but I do have pain from the middle which is the largest one. Still on full liquid diet as well till Tuesday. It's hard for me at times since I have 5 kids and cooking for them I smell the food and I wanna eat it lol just because I know how good my food is I have actually bit pieces and chew them and spit them out just for the flavor I know I feel bad when I have did it. But I'm not letting it get the best of me. I'm anxious to work out but I know walking and arm weights are the only thing I can do now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
