jetti 2 Posted August 27, 2007 I have in the past year been to 2 info seminars just trying to get as much info and research about the procedure and doctors. Well I am looking to make an appointment with a doctor that I have not attended a seminar for and I was wondering with they will require me to attend their seminar? I work 2 jobs so its not easy for me to request off to go to the seminars and all the doctors appointments so any info would be great. BTW the doctor that I want to make an appoinment with is Dr. Abkin or Dr. Bertha. Any info on those doctors would be appreciated as well. thanks!!!
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted August 27, 2007 I would go if I were you, it's a great way to see if you "click" with the doc. What if you hate them? What if they tell you how horrible banding is and how great bypass is? There are quite a few who do just that. I don't know if it is that they make more from bypass or what the deal is but I would go to a seminar and see if I even like these people.
Connorsmom 1 Posted August 27, 2007 Dr Bertha is my surgeon - I really think he is a great surgeon - a bit forward - meaning he does not beat around the bush. They will have you attend a seminar. Good Luck
ragdollx19 1 Posted August 27, 2007 I never attended a seminar. I spoke with my surgeons staff and then made an appointment to meet the doctor. I had wanted this surgery for so long I had done plenty of research on my own. I would think if you tell them you have already been to two other seminars they would not make you sit through another one.
