Revgirl 19 Posted August 12, 2016 I'm two years post surgery. Is it ok to take a daily anti inflammatory? My allergist put me on singulair for allergies. I don't know if this can cause stomach bleeding... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App
ShelterDog64 2,364 Posted August 12, 2016 Singulair is a leukotriene inhibitor, not an anti-inflammatory in the sense that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are. I've been on Singulair for years and my Pharm. D didn't see any issues with it being continued after my surgery. Of course, you'll want to check with your bariatric office. RickM 1,752 Posted August 13, 2016 I have been on Singulair for years, and likewise, it's not been a problem. Even the NSAIDs aren't nearly as big a deal for us with the sleeve as it is for those with the bypass, for whom they are a big no-no.
Revgirl 19 Posted August 13, 2016 Thank you both for your helpful input. It's a relief to know people with sleeves who have been on this medication.
