Do you use liquid Motrin (Ibuprofen)?

Recommended Posts

I use the Junior chewable motrin when I need to. I like the grape flavor the best. 2 is worth one adult Motrin

That's really funny. I considered doing that, but when trying to convert the Infant kind we had in the medicine cabinet, I figured I'd need 2 or 3 bottles to cover me!!!! Dare I ask how many you take? I'm about 15-20 pounds heavier than you.

Thanks in advance!

I use 2-3 junior tablets if I need them. That's the lowest adult dose. Before surgery, because my knees and back hurt all the time, I was taking 800-1000 mg. of Motrin every morning . With the weight I've lost, I no longer hurt and just need it occasionally.

I just asked my doctor this very same question on Monday - what can I take when my back goes out as Tylenol does nothing. He said Advil - liqui-gels are fine.

I also start with just one and that usually does the trick!

Thanks for the suggestion, but how long ago did you have surgery? I have no issues swallowing my thyroid medication, but it's tiny....I worry about the size of the Advil liqui-gels...they don't get stuck on you??

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
