Heatgirl03 41 Posted August 12, 2016 I have an evaluation tomorrow morning and I'm not sure what to expect? Is this a pass or fail type of evaluation? What type of questions should I be prepared to answer? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Hopeful2016 24 Posted August 12, 2016 They will ask about your medical history, weight loss attempts and really just make sure you understand the lifestyle change you will have to make to be successful. I was nervous too but it wasn't bad at all! Good luck! :-) Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 12, 2016 Just be honest. They're there to help make sure you're ready (which is a good thing). They'll ask about your medical, social and behavior health history. They will talk about your weight history, diet attempts, etc. Alot of questions to make sure you understand the surgery (before, during and after). You can also ask them questions if you have any. Many will give you some info on emotional eating, etc. It's not as bad as you might expect.
Heatgirl03 41 Posted August 12, 2016 What a relief! I was getting a little nervous today, thinking I'm going to get grilled by this Dr! Lol... Thank You!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 12, 2016 @@Heatgirl03 I had to complete several "screening questionnaires" before I saw the psychiatrist. I asked for help with dealing with emotional eating while I had my waiting period - just so I could have all the tools I could get for post-op.
Heatgirl03 41 Posted August 12, 2016 My process has been very speedy. I went to the seminar 2 weeks ago and I've already done all of my tests, met with the dietician and now going for the psych evaluation. They haven't mentioned any screening questionnaires?
