Is it possible to have too much water?

Recommended Posts

I am 6 days post-op. I have no trouble whatsoever getting in 64oz of Water. I typically switch 16oz of water for 8oz of G2 and 8oz of Decaf tea in order to break up the monotony. I'm also sipping a ton of broth. Every 3-4 hours I drink approximately 10oz of it.

Is this too much? I'm worried that I'm stretching my sleeve by ingesting copious amounts of liquids.

You won't stretch your sleeve. Liquids go right through. It's great you're able to drink a lot!

there is such a thing as Water intoxication but I think you are probably not anywhere near having that sort of problem.

One more question...

The liquid output is not reflecting the liquid input. I feel like I should be peeing all day considering my Fluid intake. But I'm not. What gives?

do you feel "puffy" or are you sweating? I hope it doesn't catch up with you in the middle of the night!

Eeeeek! Ask your surgeon that. Is your pee light to clear and odorless? If not, you may be slightly dehydrated from surgery and retaining.

Brroth (sic) has a lot of sodium, too, so watch that!

I don't feel puffy. The only time I've been sweating is when I walked to the subway station to go to the Jets game tonight. I was profusely sweating and felt like I was going to pass out, so I turned around and went home.

My stomach feels bloated though. I know part of it is b/c of the surgery. My Dr. said it would be swollen for 3-4 weeks.

I've been waking up around 4am to pee, but then I go right back to bed and sleep until 11. (I'm definitely not used to sleeping so late, but I'm enjoying my 4 weeks off from work.)

It's both. Sometimes it basically looks like Water - very clear. Other times it's a darkish yellow. No odor at all.

I will admit to ordering Soup from the Chinese restaurant and draining the broth from it. I'm sure it has a crazy amount of sodium.

Clear is good, dark is not. But you are doing great to get in as much as you are!

I loved strained sooo (sic) from our Chinese place! Panera will strain sooo (sic) for you, too, so you can eat out like a "normal" person. I'm not a sweets person, so I much preferred brroths (sic) to proteen (sic) drinks. Bluuuuurp!

You are probably mildly dehydrated. 64oz isn't that much. Plus you lose Water through sweat, breathing, etc, not just pee.

@@CLN.BK Nice effort trying to go to the game though! . And in this heat! Yuck!

Fortunately the tickets were free, otherwise I would have been devastated.

Geez. My surgery was on Monday and I'm not getting anywhere near that amount of Water. It's a struggle to get half of the required amount. I'm doing the best I can but it's tough. If I'm not dehydrated, you probably aren't either. [emoji3]

That's probably because it was the Jets.

You'd likely have felt much better had it been a Texans game.

In all seriousness. You are not gonna stretch your sleeve with Water.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
