I'm scheduled for the 2nd of September. I'm on the pre op diet now and having a hard time with it... I can't get the shakes and bars down. They're so sweet. On a positive note, 3 days in, 9 lbs down and only 11 days until the surgery! I'm nervous and stoked and hangry and excited. How're you doing with it? Where are you from?

HI

I am scheduled for September 30th. My mind is slightly OCD getting ready. Sometimes I don't know where to start. I am finding the list of Vitamins and choices overwhelming!!

Mine is the 2nd too. I started my pre op yesterday. So far it consists of an Isopure shake for Breakfast with fat free milk, a shake for lunch with Water, dinner is 4 oz grilled chicken breast with a green salad and a little ranch. I eat celery, broccoli and cucumber in between for a snack. The only thing I'm worried about is the ranch. It's one of those Hidden Valley packages with mayo and watered down. 9lbs down that's awesome!! Congrats to you.

Jealous of your pre op diet!!! Hahaha

I could find our thread from the other day. I'm new still learning how to work this app. Lol

I've already lost 5 lbs doing pre-op since Monday. It's not that bad I weighed in at 192 this morning. How are you doing?

Go you! Weight is dropping fast and furious!! I'm down 15 lbs since I started last Friday!! It's exciting that the numbers are going down but even more exciting knowing that it will never go back up to this. Woohoo!!!

That's the right attitude!! Never!! My friend dropped off some protien samples so I can change it up this week. I'm loving the Combat Cookies n Cream. Delish!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
