Ghozty 0 Posted August 11, 2016 Hey gang! I'm currently on a six month path to get the gastric sleeve. My BMI is quite high, so I've got to lose 100LBS before I can set the date. Anyone here succeeded in such a feat, and on to get the sleeve? I'm determined, but I just don't know if it's possible for me, as I'm so heavy it's quite hard to "work out". Plus, I just found out I'm Diabetic, and what to eat was already confusing for me, but now I'm at a loss. I don't know how they expect you to lose 100lbs on your own but there's a forum by weight loss (ie. 200+ lbs) that maybe has some info to help. Good luck! ssflbelle 829 Posted August 11, 2016 Yes I lost 145 on my own before I even saw the surgeon. I did it with1 year on Weight Watchers and 1 year on Nutrisystem. When I saw the surgeon he wanted me on a 6 month High Protein, low carb diet and I lost another 38 pounds and was finally able to have my sleeve at 314. However I was not diabetic
