So i just got done workinout for the first time in weeks. I am a sweaty mess, tired, and in pain. I have Lupus and Fobromyalgia and it is so hard to workout. I just forced myself to do it today.

How do you stay motovated once the weight loss slows or you have a long interruption in your routine?

I use audio books. I find something I really like, and then only listen to them when I work out. (I about died when I got into the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series). I'm kind of a nerd, but it works for me. It could be music, the Bob and Tom radio show, whatever works for you.

I watch Grey's Anatomy on Netflix while I 'm at the gym. I never watched it when it was on TV, so I have 12 season to watch and I am only on Season 2. I usually can watch 2 episodes a day. When that doesn't work for me I listen to Pandora. I stay motivated just seeing the numbers on the scale go down. I'm sore my muscles ache ansomf my joints hurt. To me though it is worth all the pain I just push through. Now, to clarify I don't hurt while I work out it's just normal aches and pains after nothing a hot shower, or soak in epsom bath can't help with. Good Luck

I love Greys! I met Sandra Oh (she was walking thru a mall) and I nearly cried! Lol.

Netflix is great. I also love audiobooks. There are tons of free audiobooks on YouTube. You can also watch WLS success videos on YouTube. Lots of different videos to watch.

I make friends with the regulars at the gym. They keep me accountable when they don't see me coming regularly. We tease each other and work out together. I like camaraderie and a little competition, so that's what keeps me motivated.

I get too into the stories (Netflix/reading) which distracts me from my work out, so I wouldn't find that motivating.

New shoes, work out clothes and a fresh playlist of pumping music helps too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
