Gorgeous Girl 2 Posted August 7, 2016 I am 4 months post op. I lost 18kgs over the 6 months before the sleeve and have lost a total of 45kgs. I was going swimming and was very carefull to make sure the skin under my stomach, arms and backside was dry. All of a sudden I got sore on the inside of the top of my leg. I went to my gp who has put me on strong antibodics as it is infected. I have been using a rolled up facewasher where the infection is to catch the leakage and also using a hair dryer but it is extremely painfull to even walk. I am amazed at how quickly this happened. Looking in the mirror I could not even see the sore until it was painfull. I have only been on antibodics for two days. Has anyone else had problems like this? Please tell me it gets better. missdeeAus 69 Posted August 7, 2016 No but thanks for sharing. I guess full inspections might be needed once loose skin presents. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
DaisyAmy 561 Posted August 7, 2016 No, I definitely can get rashy there, but nothing to that extent. Hoping you heal quickly! I can't imagine how uncomfortable that is!
japeters 44 Posted August 7, 2016 I have loose skin but have not had an issue with sores. I did recently join a gym to try to tighten up some of the skin. I do often get bacterial/fungal infections in my belly button and under the hanging skin from my belly but an over the counter anti fungal clears it up quickly. Good luck, I hope you heal quickly!!! Daisee68 2,493 Posted August 7, 2016 Is it like a boil? I used to get them in that area all the time when I was obese but have them much less now (can't remember the last). A warm washcloth on it can help draw it out and ease the pain. They are uncomfortable but I am not sure they are related to loose skin since I only had them when obese. Did GP give you a topical cream or just an antibiotic to take by mouth? I never had mine treated by a Dr and they always went away.
