You may want to call your Dr (whoever prescribed blood pressure meds) and see what they recommend. What's the top #?

walkermy 86 Posted August 6, 2016 Are you taking your BP at the same time everyday. What were you doing prior to taking your pressure. Make sure you tell your physician this important information. Also two weeks is early on, it make take time on your meds before you notice a significant difference in your pressure readings, or it may be that you need a different medication. Most important, talk to your physician if you are concerned.
KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 6, 2016 @@biglady904 Be sure to hydrate today. Avoid sodium and take your BP again later. If still high, I'd call your Dr. Let me know how you are doing.
cindyw41 761 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) How are you taking your Blood Pressure? Regular Bp cuff or electronic. Wrist or arm? Is the cuff big enough? Has it been calibrated with your Drs cuff? There's many factors that can give you a inaccurate reading. Are you having any other symptoms? Seeing lights swirling in your eyes? Flushed, tired, headaches? Numbness? When do you take your meds? I had malignant HBP. I've never been told to be worried for a heart attack but severely hpb puts you at a risk for strokes. Not that this is severely high but know the symptoms. If you're experiencing any other symptoms go to the Dr or minute clinic to have your BP checked by a professional. theantichick 2,204 Posted August 6, 2016 My bottom number was the one that started out being high, then both numbers went high. My doc had to tweak my meds a couple of times to find the right mix to get both down. my pulse rate was also very high, and one of my meds has gotten it more normal. Luckily I'll be off of them in a few months after surgery. Keep your doc in the loop, it may take a bit to find the right med mix.
