Yes that's what I was told today. If u have to take anything then it's Tylenol only. Nothing with aspirin or blood thinner at least a week before surgery

You should be scared to take a whole pill so soon after surgery. I was instructed to crush pills because of the risk of the whole pill getting lodged in the incision

I was told any pills smaller than half an inch were fine. You shouldn't have a problem, but it would be a good idea to call your nurse line to make sure.

Ha ha. My doctor instructed me to not crush pills, that I could take them whole. Sure enough I did starting day 1 and had no problems.

My doctor told me not to crush pills also. He said I could take them whole, one at a time. If they were too big like a Vitamin then I could cut them in half. I have taken Tylenol PM a couple of times starting about a week after surgery and didn't have any problems. Just great sleep! I only took one and it worked great. Quick too. Before surgery I would have taken two.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
