BBK, where did the link go to your before and after pictures. I wanted to show my bf what an inspiration you are. He puts up a lot with me and the way I eat because of banding.

BBK - I aspire to be you!!!! You look so terrific.

I don't think I will ever be in a size 4/6 - even if I got to be 110 pounds!

Thanks BBK. I am going to show that to him tonight. He read something in the paper about someone who got really sick from being banded. Sounds to me like she was too tight for too long. I didn't get to read it. Now he's all freaked out.

I have no problems though. I never pb anymore. I could probably use a fill but I am finally to the point where I can take all my medicine and supplements without them getting stuck so I am not messing with a good thing.

When are you having your revision surgery?

I am having the port moved in a few weeks. Because of school I have to wait for December for other revisions.

That really sucks that you have to go through so much all over again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
