mrslopez 12 Posted August 6, 2016 Yes be careful your stomach is like a newborn stomach now and u have to take things slow and introduce things in phases to your new stomach i was sleeved dec 2015 and it was rough in the beginning. Doctor had me on liquids for 2 weeks then purees food for 3 weeks but when i started the solids i still couldn't really eat it so i stuck with the pureed. Be really careful hun! Remember introduce slow u have a newborn stomach now just like food is introduced to them and processed its the same with us. Good luck!!! tonetone 7 Posted August 6, 2016 I hit the 60 oz goal fairly quickly surprisingly bc it took freaking all day just sip sip sip so that's why I decided to try the super soft Mac and cheese but learned the hard way I need to wait a little longer since it gave me diarrhea (I think? Maybe a combo of that anesthesia still releasing) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Mac & cheese? no good even when you can eat solids...carbs and fat Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

chycky 671 Posted August 6, 2016 I would stick to the meds and work with your doc on approved diet. I see any Pasta as a possibly never food unless whole grain and then only at maitenance. I also know that anything too fatty made me nauseous.
EffBeingPhat 0 Posted August 6, 2016 I thought I was the only one feeling this way. I am having a hard time getting my fluids in because of the nausea. I'm 3 days post-op.
chycky 671 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) I had to play around with a lot of different Protein options. Post op, I could not do the shakes I had been using for a week or two. broth with unflavored Isopure Protein was life saver. I would say first week Isopure protein waters were what kept me going. I didn't particularly like them but they were large amount of Fluid and 50g protein! Try something new get samples or one bottle of different flavors/brands. It will help you feel better! RNY KAT 3 Posted August 6, 2016 I was on Protein shakes 3 weeks then started the other stages. Yiu have ti be real careful too. No processed sugar caffeine the list my doctor gave me goes on and on. Sent from my LG-H631 using BariatricPal mobile app You can eventually have .5-1 glass of wine, but no hard liquor bc it goes into your blood stream a lot quicker (or something like that) since it doesn't just sit in your stomach. However, that is way down the road. I am 3 months post op and have tried a 1/2 glass and did fine, but I also got the OK from my Dr first. Soda can make your stomach stretch bc of the carbonation and give you bad gas. Also, sugar content is bad anyway. Good luck, it gets a lot easier! RNY KAT 3 Posted August 6, 2016 Like I said before, I am 3 months out and STILL have never eaten Pasta. I want to try Quest Pasta because it has 0 grams net carbs and a good amount of Protein, but I wouldn't try it until much closer to my goal. I wouldn't ever suggest regular pasta, and definitely not before you are at a comfortable weight. You should avoid "trigger" foods because even though it will be hard to avoid, trying to eat a small amount to give you satisfaction has been proven to make it much harder because your body will crave it more. Also, I had to do 2 weeks of liquids, 2 weeks of pureed, 2 weeks soft foods, then I could slowly introduce other foods. However, I was told no lettuce (salads) until 10 weeks out. Check out theworldaccordingtoeggface.com for some awesome recipes at every stage, although the beginning stages are limited bc you are limited on what you can eat. Good luck y'all.
