Hi guys,

Does anyone have any fab and easy snack ideas for me to have when I've got a few friends round to watch the Olympic Opening ceremony?

I won't be making a habit of having Snacks in front of the telly but it's kind of a special occasion. My riends who are non-sleevers will be having the usually sort of thing - wine, chips, pizza etc.

I'm 6 weeks out of surgery and can eat most things now. Any ideas would be most welcome!

Ps I'm in the UK so generic ideas for things that I can make would be great.

I'll go along with that @@Bufflehead said except the nuts. My initial gut reaction was "umm Water." but I would add chicken wings. I like to put chicken on a skewer and have the grilled chicken to munch on. You can really snack well on great quality Protein and it doesn't cost that much.

touch down taco dip! bottom is a can of refried Beans with a couple of cloves of chopped garlic and some cheddar cheese. top layer is some cream cheese and about 6 ounces of sour cream blended with some taco seasoning and spread on top of the bottom layer in a medium size baking pan. top with shredded mexican and bake about 20 minutes at 350. my family eats it with chips, I eat it with a spoon. We have salsa on top when it is served. very tasty and filling.

or some greek yogurt with seasonings - or a purchased one like the kind with feta and dill and raw veg if you can manage the veg.

@@OKCPirate YESSSSS!!!!!!

I'm so happy to see someone else does this...lol. Since I've been back on regular food, every couple of days, I cut up some chicken and put in on skewers, grill it with some seasoning and then store it in the fridge so it's there. It has been the best thing to have around when you need a bite or if you don't have time to make a full meal.

Really I think that's the best snack for me...lots of lean protein!! Also, I like taking fresh blueberries (not pre-frozen) and then I wash and place them in the freezer overnight. They are soft and slightly sweet and great little Snacks. I don't get the pre-frozen ones because I think they are coated with Water because they are like little ice cubes...unlike the fresh-frozen ones that are really easy to eat right out of the freezer.

Others would be almonds, pecans, baby carrots, grapes, apple slices, or just raw veggies and guac or hummus....all really good Snacks.< /p>

I like to do meatballs, cheeses, even a homemade ranch dip with veggies as dippers.

I also have made chicken salad lettuce cups using Bibb lettuce. Very healthy but they don't taste that way.

I actually make naked buffalo wings baked in the oven. I bake them until they are really crisp, then I use the Louisiana hot sauce but I leave out the butter. When I eat them, I tear the skin off.

Enchilada dip is great for football season too. Especially chicken or ground beef, just use ground round instead. With the sauce and cheese it is excellent. Use veggies to dip or just put some on your plate and eat it with a spoon.

Deviled eggs although I can't eat eggs so I don't make these any more.

Any type of chicken salad or tuna salad on a crisp cucumber slice.

But......meatballs are my favorite snack food for football. I cannot wait until our season starts next week. GO GREEN BAY PACKERS!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
