charlie24 4 Posted August 4, 2016 Hi! Last night I went to bed completely fine, but when I woke up at 6:30am this morning my back was throbbing all over, I could hardly get up. I had to wake someone up and have them bring me all the ice packs in our house and give me a full dose of liquid hydrocodone in order to be able to make the pain go away. Has something like this happened to anyone? I know I've heard stories that pain starts out of the blew after surgery even after days and weeks, but just seeing if this is something pretty standard. Dub 9,922 Posted August 4, 2016 How far post-op are you ? When I was discharged I was told that it's not uncommon to have pain in shoulders, back and abdomen from the gas that was used during the surgery and it would work it's way out. I never experienced it. I did, however, have those types of pains after a prior hernia surgery. Both shoulders were aching bad. Sorry you are having this occur.
