It's strange bit I don't get thirstyour or crave Water when I might crave or need it.

Water is also hard to take down. So I have to have some flavor like Vitamin water in order to hydrate. My Dr said it's because waters PH is different and for some people they don't do well with waters PH.

My weight loss is slow and I struggle to drink anything everyday. Is anyone else got these issues?

Ty!

Water alone is difficult and juice makes it too sweet. I get too sick of flavours so I squeeze a lemon in my water bottle and I love it. I can get a litre down in a day and I am happy with that for now.

I can and I will.

There is always things like crystal light packets which I have when I can no longer stand the flavor of Water. Or you can do as lema suggests lemon, cucumber, berries, lime, mint leaves those are all really good for helping with Water. Even better is to make a pitcher the day before and leave it in the fridge so it's nice and bold

I had issues with regular filtered Water also. For some reason, spring Water and enhanced waters (smart water, etc) are fine. Not sure if it's the additional minerals that make it easier to get down for me but I have no issues hitting my water goals with spring water or enhanced water.

Also I add lemons a lot too for taste and the fact that they add some nutrients into the water also!

I got share it's nice to know I am not alone. It's so difficult to guzzle our Water but then we are also on well Water. I was at someone's house the other day and she gave me a glass of water from her refrig with ice and I could of had 10 of them. So wierd how it's hard to swallow some water and not all!!

I am 5 weeks post op and struggle to get in 300ml a day which I know is way too low. I flavour my Water too but it doesn't make a huge difference to my consumption . I worry about it but can't take more than sips. If I could swig it back or even drink normally it would be OK but more than sipping hurts. Will this improve?

It will improve...just have to be patience. For some people they can drink a lot more than others but like me, I can't drink too much to quick...Hang in there...you are still adjusting!

Before my surgery I drank a lot of Water. Post op I can't tolerate plain water- even over two years post op. I have to drink propel or flavored water. Plus I have to keep a close eye on my water consumption and make an effort to stay hydrated. Seems like I am never thirsty, so i always measure out my Fluid for the day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
