Yes I did. And I still do. At first, it was the horrible gas pains in my neck and left arm that was unbearable. I think the gas pains are gone. But now I'm so tender and sore in my belly and legs. Every time I breathe deeply, talk, stand up, sit down, I hurt. I don't know why my legs are cramping this much.

Great news! How are you feeling - any pain? Did you have any right after the procedure? Details! lol

Hey everyone. I'm back home from staying in the hospital after surgery. Everything went great. :D

Is it the gas they use to expand the belly for laparscopic surgery? I'm pretty sure I got that when I had my appendix out but I don't remember any gas pain - maybe the morphine helped with that! Weird about your legs - did you ask them why? I can see the incision areas hurting though. I know you help to sit down and stand up - didn't they tell you this?

It could be some of the gas. I didn't ask them why. I made a statement about my legs hurting, but they ignored me. They didn't tell me I would need help standing up.

So glad to hear everything went great!

I screwed up on my pre-op diet and cheated twice. Once with caviar and another time with a little sashimi. I was nervous, but addressed it with my surgeon and my surgery went fine as well.

@@Hiraeth Get some fluids with electrolytes. Move as much as you can - even if you just rock back and forth. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

I think my legs hurt because I'm dehydrated. (Weird since I was hooked up to an IV most of the time. It probably has nothing to do with the IV, though, lol.) I may go take a night walk since it's too hot right now. Good thing I live in a nice neighborhood. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
