Anyone losing too much weight in your face? I am!

Recommended Posts

I am getting comments from others that I'm losing too much weight in my face. I'm starting to wrinke and I'm only two months post op. If you've lost too much weight in your face, what did you do about it? Did you do facial exercises, a facelift or something else? Please share. I don't like this.

Thanks in advance!

I own my old bad ass self. I can give a rats ass on other peoples comments. Wrinkles and all, I look and act younger than ever before.

Why change your face to please others? Own who you are..Life is short.

I'm the opposite and am deathly afraid of wrinkles.

You could find the best cosmetic dermatologist in your town and address it with them. A good derm will be able to help you come up with a proper skincare regimen, potentially prescribe prescription strength retinols, and discuss the possible use of injectables and fillers to even out your wrinkles.

Fillers and other injectables are so excellent these days that the traditional facelift will be obsolete in a decade.

Unfortunately we don't get to choose where we lose weight and how much. Wrinkles are a part of life. They were likely already there and they are now exposed with weight loss. Some people are always going to find fault in others to build themselves up. Are they sporting perfect bodies and faces? I dobut it.

Now, if you decide for yourself at some point you want ps, go for it. This is your journey. In the meantime try some facial products and routines to see if they make you feel better. Just don't let others opinions of you drive you.

while I wouldn't mind loosing faster off the middle, or the hips, my face too has gotten thinner, faster. But - it reminds me of how I used to look in the face, so I'm quite pleased.

if the wrinkles bother you try a retinol cream, and take salmon oil or fish oil and take Vitamin c daily. these will have a positive effect on your skin. I have been using these products for a long while and I have a hard time convincing people I am my age.

I am 1.5 months out from surgery and the only comments I have received so far are that I have lost weight in my face. That's okay but I really am hoping for more belly shrinkage than face shrinkage!

I have not noticed more wrinkles yet, but I am approaching 50 and am concerned about wrinkles overall. I am frugal so I haven't tried extremely expensive over-the-counter products. I have tried Estee Lauder, Clinique, and several others in that range. Honestly, Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle night products have been most effective to me. I also take hyaluronic acid supplements for dry eyes and they are supposed to help wrinkles, too. Hydration affects skin appearance so make sure to get in your fluids!

I started a regime from Rodan & Fields to prevent this. It does amazing things to firm skin back up on the face. Lmk if more interested.

Working beyond grief for a better life!

One thing I've noticed, is when you lose a lot of weight no matter what way there's a point where your face looks a little overly lean. I guess it like falls off their first? But, later when your weight stabilizes or you regain like 3 pounds it seems to fill out just fine. I've seen it again and again on my own Cycles up and down. So maybe give it some more time. Also, I'm not sure how long you had the extra weight on your body. But, often when we're older we lose the weight it shows what was underneath it. None of that's a bad thing it just is. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
