Day after Surgery

Although I feel pretty good after the surgery, I am drained. I am on an all liquid diet. My Dr wants me to drink 4 oz of Water every hour. Shooting for 40oz of water, life water, etc a day. But almost every time I take a sip, I get this pain just below my sternum. The water is room temp. How long does this last for most?

I had it for the first few days. To me it felt like a severe hunger cramp. On day 3, I called the doctor and he put me on nexium. Since then, it's been better. It may be acid.
