Just curious if anyone else has had an abnormal urinalysis. My doctors office called today to say that my creatinine levels was pretty high and I am a little dehydrated. They also said I had Protein in my urine. I'm a year out from being sleeved. I know I don't drink as much as I should. I don't have a history of any kidney disease in my family.

Yep, I had Protein in my urine at about my one year f/u. My doctor made me wait three or maybe four months & retest. It was all ok.

Don't stress over it ( I know easier said then done) . Just follow doctors orders & think positive!

Are you exercising alot - or did you before urinalysis? Are you diabetic? Dehydration may be the cause of the Protein in your urine too.

I am exercising a good bit but not the day before my test. Im not a diabetic but what about the creatanine?

Do u remember if your creatinine level was elevated as well? That does make me feel better especially since everything else was normal.

I am a nurse, so this is only my opinion. Unless you have a history of kidney issues, then your elevated creatine is more than likely due to not getting enough Fluid in. Dehydration can cause an elevated creatine to put it in easy terms. Also the Protein in your urine is more than likely due to the high protein diet, if you are following that. Drink more fluids and everything should correct itself without any worries.

@@snoopyt2, I don't recall my doctor saying anything about my creatinine, however I do drink a lot of Water.< /p>

Just as Hello new Me posted, my doctor said the Protein in my urine was due to an increased protein diet. It all eventually leveled off. Hoping the same news for you too.

Drink your water young lady!:-)

High creatinine is typically from dehydration.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
