Recommended Posts

Hi all I'm 44 had sleeve surgery 7/13/16 weight day of surgery 275. First week and a half I lost 20 pounds I haven't lost anymore weight. I can't find a Protein drink I like so I'm not getting much in the way of Protein. I do my Water just fine to stay hydrated but every time i take the multi Vitamin it makes me sick???? Getting discouraged

Just had my 3 week check up and was told that a stall around this time is completely normal. They said to make sure to only weigh yourself 1 time a week and that even though the scale might not change you can notice a difference in the way clothes and such fit. They said that when you're working out you can burn fat by going slow and then fast and changing the intensity level throughout your workout. I was also told that a stall around the 3-6 month period also occurs.... Hope that helps!

My surgery was the day after yours. I too had trouble taking my Vitamins. I tried taking them before meals, after meals, in between meals, and every time I got extremely nauseated and even vomited once. Thankfully, I think I figured it out a few days ago. I eat about 1/3 of my meal, take Vitamin, eat another 1/3, take rest of Vitamins, finish meal. This has been working wonders! By the way, my vitamins are chewable, so I'm not drinking during meals.

I left my house for vacation 4 days ago. This is the first time I haven't been weighing myself daily. I'm nervous about weighing in when I get home. I don't want to hit the dreaded 3 week stall!

I hope these tips are helping and your stall ends soon!

If you stay off the scale for several weeks, you can sail through your 3 week stall without ever knowing about it. I highly recommend it!

Hi Suziesue1706.

Have you tried liquid Vitamin And are you waiting 5 to 10 minutes in between each bit? Good that you are drinking Water .you can find some of the Protein liquid that can be mix with the Water so you can get the right amount of Protein and the last but not least moving ,walking to loose weight.how much do you eat?

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
