Is 60 lbs at 6 months okay?

Recommended Posts

I am concerned that I am not making progress like the others in my support group. Is 60 lbs in an acceptable range at 6 months?

Hi,

I had my sleeve surgery on 4/13, so I'm almost 4 mo out.

I am wondering same thing. Is there a STANDARD # of lb per month that is average?

Am I "behind" and should I cut out all carbs? I began eating some carbs just to see

if I could. Seems I can eat some as lon gas I don't eat lots of carbs. So am eating just about

everything now except apples, oranges, popcorn, skins on veggies/fruits. I am also doing minimal

exercise.

Shoudl I be losing more?

Should I absolutely be vigorous exercise daily to push more off?

Need advice from others ahead of us out there!

It's great! Don't compare yourself to others! We all lose at different rates! Congrats - keep it up!

I'm following the Bariatric diet strictly and am also averaging 10 pounds per month. My doctor said that I was losing slower than average. I'm not letting it bother me. I'm still walking at least 40 minutes a day and try to drink Water and Protein as much as I can along with the Vitamines. They say that everyone has their journey and I know that this weight will come off as long as I keep trying. I am envious of those people able to lose over 100 pounds in 6 months.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
