Rebecca Friesen 80 Posted August 1, 2016 I had my sleeve surgery January 2015. I am about 5 lbs from my goal weight. I started at 253 and currently weigh 164 lbs. I am 5 foot 8. My goal is 159. I have been this weight since November 2015. Longest stall ever. My body sits comfortably at this weight. I go as low as 163 and as high as 167 without doing too much. I hate the idea of not reaching my goal but no matter what I try it won't budge!!! I increase Protein. Nothing. Increase Water. Nothing. Cut out all treats of any sort. Nothing. Then I go back to my usual of just getting by without trying too hard. Seems like it will never happen!
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted August 1, 2016 It sounds to me like your body is happy at the current weight. The numbers on the scale are just that, numbers. Is there a particular reason you are so focused on that particular number?
Rebecca Friesen 80 Posted August 1, 2016 Hi:-) thx for the input. Only reason was that at 159 I am a regular bmi. I'm pretty happy with where I am. I wear size 8 pants and a medium/large shirt. I fit into small scrubs. I feel healthy and my knees feel great!!! Just that silly number is stuck in my head!!!
Hiraeth 515 Posted August 1, 2016 Have you tried working out? I know that people who have had stalls have gotten a personal trainer to help them shed extra pounds. But it does seem that your body is happy where it is. You're very tall for a woman, so 160's is a great weight.
KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 1, 2016 BMI is not a great number to go by. I wouldn't stress about being "overweight" according to that. Congrats on your great success!
cinand38 18 Posted August 2, 2016 My doctor said not to focus on a weight. Instead focus on a clothing size. She said that excess skin can be the reason you might not achieve the number on the scale. Momcat 29 Posted August 3, 2016 Hi. I could have written your post. I too have an idea in my head that I should weigh 145. About 1-1/2 years out and can't seem to lose anymore. I now weigh 157, and no matter what I do the scale won't budge!! Very frustrating!!
UK Cathy 977 Posted August 3, 2016 I don't know if this helps ladies. I have posted it before and some people find it useful. Why 2 pictures I don't know
sleever54 8 Posted August 5, 2016 Wow....I am surprised that they allow such a huge weight increase as we get older on that chart. It seems like the older we get the better it would be to be lighter. Considering we are not as strong as we are were in our 20's and carrying extra weight means it's harder on our joints and body!
Cindy Currie Anderson 22 Posted August 5, 2016 Actually there's been studies done that show a little extra weight is more beneficial as people age.
