Only if I eat or drink too much or too fast.

Anything with bread often gives me hiccups......which is a great incentive for me to avoid the junk. Nothing in bread that my body needs that I can't get in a better form.

Oh my the dreadful hiccups! I get them probably 2 to 6 times a day and they are hard ones! They don't just come on from me eating fast or taking that last spoon when you know its going to put your belly full. I will just be sitting here and out they come! Went to movies last night saw Bad Moms, while everyone was laughing I had the loud hiccups. Great movie though.

I think I drank it too fast or maybe it was a combination of being to much as well. Anyhow, it's a great restrictive mechanism. I surely learned my lesson!

OMG hiccups while healing was the WORST! It hurts so badly and you can't stop!!! I learned the hard way that eating and drinking slowly are super helpful at preventing them and no matter how badly you want to, don't drink while you eat....omg....just don't.

I feel for you....take your time and keep the hiccups at bay :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
