guy17 6 Posted July 29, 2016 So I thought my big incision was the one hurting a lot, but it is really the muscle a few inches below my big incision. I spoke to my Surgeon and asked him if I could use Biofreeze and he said I could use creams & Gels, but I was just wondering if any of you have used this or anything similiar before I do? daniotra 298 Posted July 30, 2016 I would recommend ice packs. They helped a ton. I wouldn't use any cream or gel on your incisions until they are well healed. It's not worth the infection risk. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Dub 9,922 Posted July 30, 2016 I use biofreeze on my knees and back. Great product but careful around sutures
jess9395 5,449 Posted July 30, 2016 I use bio freeze for sore muscles after a race. But I agree be really careful around any skin breaks. It will sting like nobody's business!

I don't know about biofreeze, but I can sympathize with this pain. The thing that has helped me the most is compression. I don't have a binder like others suggest on here all the time, but I have been living in really tight pants that support the muscle. The only thing is...now when I'm not wearing the tight pants it is even more sore than before. I'm two weeks out, and everything else is going wonderfully. This pain is really bringing me down though. I can't even get a good night's sleep because of it.
amandaelder4 26 Posted July 30, 2016 Bio freeze is amazing. I use it all the time and I had a similar pain closer to my belly button. Just insure it's not ok your incision.
