acrising 4 Posted July 29, 2016 Hi, A week from yesterday I will be having Rouen Y surgery. I have noticed other members have been prescribed liquid diets for a pre-op diet and my provider has me on a 800-1000 calorie diet. I am really struggling with sticking to the eating plan. Should I switch to a liquid diet at this point so I won't face the cancelling of the surgery as my liver hasn't shrunk enough? Kinda nervous. Shrinkinqtpi 202 Posted July 29, 2016 I would do exactly what your surgeon says to do. The liquid diet is there for a reason - to shrink the liver. It causes the liver to become less fatty. If your doctor does not want you to do it DON'T. We who have to have a liquid diet want desperately to chew something besides ice. Be blessed!!!
