Am I too cautious?

My brother is taking me to surgery on Monday 8/1. The plan was for me to spend the night at his house on Sunday since he lives so close to surgical center.

I called him yesterday and he has a cold. It kept him home from work.

Now I'm wondering if I should look for another ride. I don't want to be recovering from RNY and fighting a cold as well.

Am I overthinking this? I wouldn't care any other time, but I want this recovery to be as smooth as possible.

It's reasonable not to want a cold while you're recovering. Some would even say it's wise not to want... If only for your peace of mind, have someone else take you in and get you out.

@@WW0747 If it is possible to find another way I'd do it. You do not want to be coughing or sneezing after abdominal surgery.

I called the nurse and she said it wasn't a concern at all. I may just spend the night at my house to limit the exposure and he pick me up the morning of surgery.

He's just going to pick me up on Monday morning. It limits my exposure. I feel better about it.
