Thank you for your reply! My gyn is horrible..I dont think she's ever had a patient that's had gastric bypass surgery ! Even after telling her I don't think I should be taking that test she still insists that I do...I'm not sure who else I can call or talk to to get recommended to someone who knows how I should test and won't FORCE me to take that test ...

Remember that you have a right to say no if your uncomfortable with the situation. Let her know that it is unsafe for you and she could simply google that information. Reach out to a diabetic doctor on your own if need be. My gyn has never treated a woman that has had a gastric bypass and I had all types of issue with this pregnancy. My Iron was so low that I had to get a blood transfusion and Iron infusions through out the pregnancy. He sent me to a hematologist to monitor me since he had no idea why my iron was so low. He was open to my concerns and even changed my diabetic doctor when I told him how he had spoken to me and the issues I had with him. Be vocal about what you will and won't do and be proactive. That's why the diabetic doc didn't care for me because I spoke out and spoke loud. You know what's right for you and don't let them tell you any different

Same here! My Iron is really low and she put me on Iron supplements but hasn't checked my blood since beginning pregnancy which I think is odd!! I've had two ultrasounds one at 7 weeks and another at 20 weeks and baby seems fine..I've lost 13 lbs since being pregnant and haven't gained a pound and I'm almost 6 months...but she seems to be fine with it..i think I'm going to have to reach out on my own like u said..I refuse to take the glucose test like she wants me too. I know what's going to happen to my body if I even attempt it!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
