SimplySheavon 22 Posted July 28, 2016 Well, I have been feeling great lately and am comfortable while eating. Here is the deal....I am 1 month out and I was just able to eat 8 oz of food without much of any problem. That seems like ALOT! I had flakey fish and mashed broccoli. What is the deal? It is kind of scary that I can eat that much but I also feel healthier than barely getting in 2 oz. I'm still eating around 700 calories a day, never over. SimplySheavon 22 Posted July 28, 2016 Oh also, I only eat 3 meals a day....breakfast, lunch, and dinner and maybe one snack like a piece of cheese

SimplySheavon 22 Posted July 28, 2016 They never gave me recommended portion sizes, that is probably part of the problem.
suzzzzz 1,005 Posted July 28, 2016 They never gave me recommended portion sizes, that is probably part of the problem. I wasn't given portion sizes either. My surgeon emphasized small bites and to take 30 minutes to eat. He also said that once all the swelling was gone, I will probably have a capacity of 2/3 cup. I am 5 weeks out and I eat very slowly. I am not able to eat more than 1/2 cup now and not always that much. I suggest slowing down some and really paying attention to how you feel. It may be that is your capacity or it may be too much with other foods. Have heard fish is easiest to eat a lot of.

I don't know when it increases as they haven't given me beyond week 6 yet.
