Nicole Kahla 1 Posted July 28, 2016 My nutritionist and my surgeon told me I need to be getting at least 1200 calories a day and that this will help weight loss and I'll feel better. But I'm having trouble doing that. Sometimes after I take a few bites of something I start feeling sick and stop. Or when I try to drink a smoothie with a bunch of calories (as suggested by them) I can only do a little bit. Any tips on how to get enough calories because I'm certainly not and I know it has a big effect on weight loss.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted July 28, 2016 @@Nicole Kahla You have to build up to that many calories. I didn't get there until almost 9 month and even now my calorie goal is in the 1400 range and I have a hard time getting there every day. I am running well over a 1000 calories deficit every day, so it is important to get my calories up but we can only eat so much at a time. I'm not sure about a smoothie with a bunch of calories. Are you sure you understood their instructions? Most doctors know you can't eat that much early on. Are you meeting your Protein goals? that is more important than calories
