daniotra 298 Posted July 28, 2016 I love my Instant Pot. The meat is a lot juicier than the crock pot. I think it'll be perfect once I can start eating more solids. It's definitely not "instant", but it's hands off, which I appreciate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

OKCPirate 5,323 Posted July 28, 2016 I have been going to CO a great deal lately, ahem, to work on my potential glaucoma issues . It's all just research at this point. I prefer the crock pot over pressure cookers so far, but I am open to change for a compelling reason.
NeedaBreak4Me 1,755 Posted July 29, 2016 My fave lamb shank recipe. 4 lamb shanks 1 red onion & 1 white onion Garlic 1 litre chicken stock Dried oregano Dried thyme Bay leaves 3 large tomatos 1 eggplant 3 potatoes Add a little oil in the pressure cooker, sear lamb shanks. Add onions, garlic, oregano, thyme, bay leaves, 1 litre stock, salt/pepper. Pressure cook for 10 mins, release pressure and open lid. Then add the eggplant, tomatoes and potatoes and return to pressure for 30 mins. This is super fragrant and totally yum!

Can't help it......grillers do it slower............

Djmohr 6,965 Posted August 1, 2016 Ok then, I just ran the instant pot steam test, cleaned the pot and I have Baby back ribs in the pot. 30 minutes from now they should be fall off the bone tender. I am going to have play with this thing all week!
smg 471 Posted August 1, 2016 I use my pressure cookers (stovetop and electric) quite often, for many different things, but my favorite thing to use it for is hard-boiled eggs! I can make large batches and even when using fresh eggs they are simple to peel when cooked in the pressure cooker. Every machine is different I'm sure with regard to times, but I do 18 at a time and in 6-8 minutes (once at set pressure - low) they are perfectly done! Times don't seem to change regardless of how many I cook at a time either, making it easy to test with a few to get your timings down, then add more to suit your needs. Great Snacks and source of protein!

Djmohr 6,965 Posted August 2, 2016 I could not believe how wonderful this pot made BBQ ribs for me yesterday. Literally 30 minutes and they were fall off the bone tender, finished them on the grill with homemade peach BBQ Sauce that was incredible. Tomorrow I will make chicken cacciatore in it. I won't be making Pasta with it, just a salad and green Beans. My vote is the pot is going to replace several kitchen appliances for me.
