Hi all. I am 9/19/16. Anxious and ready. I am 48 year old and have battled pcos since my mid 20's.

Sw 276

Cw 269 (and not budging)

Goal. To eliminate all diabetes meds and improve my health. And of course want to lose some weight along the way.

My husband is getting sleeved too. He hasn't got his date yet but he is hoping for November.

Still waiting for the final approval from Cigna. But they set my date. Cigna not easy even with the uncontrolled diabetes. High blood pressure. Severe sleep apnea and pcos. First letter of denial because not medically necessity? Crazy! I KNOW it will get approved.

Glad to see some September sleepers out there. Live in and love this site.

Just got home yesterday from Wednesday surgery; how are you all doing? I think the gas pain was the worst of it! Not much pain today, just a little uncomfortable.

I had my surgery Tuesday and came home Wednesday night. I feel good except pain on left side from the larger incision. My gas pain isn't bad but I still have some. I am doing fairly well on my clear liquid diet and start my Vitamins and full liquid and Protein supplements tomorrow. This is truly not as bad as I had thought. Going to try back to work Monday.

I just got sleeved monday! Everything went well, headed home tuesday. Im on clear dilluted liquid diet, since yesterday ive been more anxious. Last night i dreamed of a hamburger! I need to get my fat me out of my head. The worst part is sleeping comfortably, my large incision it the one giving me more trouble.

Tomorrow I had my first round of Multivitamins and it wasn't fun. I bought ones that are called bari melts! My nausea was so bad i had to go to sleep. Hope tomorrow is better.

I saw the group but it says it is for RNY. Is that the only group? Is there a private group for vsg? I hate when my groups show up to other people snooping around my fb. Haha

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
