I am going on my second yeast infection. I was sleeved on 6/16/16. Have any of you had a yeast infection? Or two??? I've had 1 on my tongue and 2 going on in the other area. Getting concerned..

I wonder if they're from high doses of antibiotics during surgery and post-op. I would think you're beyond that point to have another one though. Not a good side effect to have.

Try taking a probiotic everyday, I found this helped with prevention though rather than to treat it.

Yep. This is one of those nasty things that you should call your team about.

Yeast infections==nasty buggers---can come from antibiotics disrupting you natural bacteria equation, or from being dehydrated---also causing bacterial imbalance, or from a vast arena of other possible culprits.

Please give your team a call. They know you and will have you "itch free" in no time. :)

Take care of yourself and please let us know how you make out.

Side effect of post op antibiotics maybe. The only thing that helps me is diflucan and many doctors will prescribe over the phone... Especially if they recently prescribed you antibiotics. First try your surgeon, then your gyno, then your pcp. Remember Probiotics and yogurt.

Yes yogurt is a good way to keep them away. But what my nutrition said is we will get them and it's do to not taking in the probiotics. vagisil cream is also nice to keep the PH in balance down there.

I am probably dehydrated. I didn't know that could cause yeast infections. I have been having a tough time keeping anything down. I will still call my doctor. Thanks!

I haven't had any since surgery, only had maybe 1 in my life. I hate yogurt and don't touch it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
